Well, it’s been 6 weeks. Even typing that makes my heart flutter. How on earth has it been SIX WEEKS ALREADY? I’ve taken some time away from blogging because to be honest, moving was a lot. It’s been so long since the last time we moved, I had forgotten how much goes into it.
The move itself went great! Surprising I(we) have gotten the house in order and I’m now just figuring out how I want the house to flow. It has been nice having a blank canvas to work with for sure.
The kids have handled the move with more grace than I could have ever hoped for. It has been an adjustment for all of us, but my prayer is we’ll find our tribe here. The neighbors have been amazing at making us feel welcome and the kids have found their daily groove.
School doesn’t start for the littles until 8:40 so that extra time in the morning has been an added bonus we were not expecting. It’s amazing what waiting for your kids to get up in the morning will do for moods.
Our animals have also done amazing even if it is quite funny to watch the dogs try and run on hard woods.
Thanksgiving was a lot different this year with not being around family, but we made it special. All thanks to Costco. On that note, my gracious alive I love Costco. I have limit myself to going there only once per month now.
We’re about 25-30 minutes from any shop, restaurant, or family fun activity Raleigh has to offer and I love that. It’s close enough for us. I find myself venturing out a lot during the week to see what new places there are.
Last week we went to the annual Christmas tree lighting downtown Clayton and it was just lovely. This may be a small town, but you would have never known that with how people were there.
That’s it for now, but my plan is to start blogging once a week and keep you updated on all the shenanigans of our life here. We’ll hope you follow along. Miss you Hickory <3
